Seated Liberty Dime Mintage
The Seated Liberty Dime, minted from 1837 through 1891, was produced by the U.S. Mint at 4 different mint locations including Philadelphia, New Orleans, Carson City and San Francisco. Numerous design changes and modifications over the years have led to many variations of this coin making it a collectors dream.
The Seated Liberty Dime is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. During its period of production the coin started at 2.67 grams of weight, reduced to 2.49 grams in 1853 and was increased in weight to 2.50 grams in 1873 with a diameter of 17.9mm.
