Indian Head Nickel 1913-1938
Sometimes known as the Buffalo Nickel, the Indian Head Nickel is one of the most widely collected U.S. minted coins. Designed by James Earle Fraser the Indian Head nickel was minted from 1913-1938 with only a minor change to the obverse when it was discovered was problematic. The most famous and sought after issue is the 1937-D 3 Legged variety where the Buffalo's right front foreleg is missing.
